Google is hosting a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) app that uses facial recognition to identify immigrants. The app tells local cops whether to contact ICE about the person – essentially putting people directly in the crosshairs of deportation. Meanwhile, Google has removed apps and tools built by activists and advocates to alert neighborhoods when ICE agents are nearby, protecting families from sudden raids. Google has chosen a side: they’re helping Trump’s mass deportation machine while erasing the tools that would help immigrants stay safe and informed. We even noticed a warning about Heather Cox Richardson's email newsletter. Add your name now and demand Google STOP hosting CBP’s harmful app and restore the apps that keep our communities safe.
