NH State House, 107 N Main St, Concord, NH 03301, USA

About the event

SB 434, a bill that would allow books, art, films and videos, visual media like drawings and photographs, live performances, dances, guest speakers, and other material to be banned in our public schools, is headed to Governor Ayotte’s desk.

The right to free expression includes the freedom to read whatever we choose.

But yet again, NH lawmakers are attempting to make it easier to ban books and other types of content right here in the Granite State.

Just last year, Governor Ayotte vetoed a similar book banning bill and this time should be no different.

Join the ACLU of New Hampshire, MomsRising, 603 Equality, Engage NH, NEA New Hampshire, and AFT New Hampshire on Thursday, June 11th at 11AM for a silent read-in at the New Hampshire State House to make clear that book bans have no place in our state. Bring your favorite banned book, grab some free treats,…
